This league is designed for the urban villages of NBN Sector 6 of Rochester, New York, to bring neighbors together in a fun and relaxed setting. Teams are associated with local streets, neighborhood organizations, and businesses, and all games are played at Marie Daley park and School 35 on Field St. This league is a great way to meet new people in your neighborhood and to spend more time with those you already know!
Some players have played recently in other softball leagues, but many if not most have not played in years--or ever! Gloves and bats are available for loan so that lack of equipment won't keep anyone on the sidelines.
The competition in the league is real but neighborly. In other leagues, sometimes play can actually raise levels of stress as competitiveness and nastiness go haywire. All such vibes are discouraged in the Southeast Fall Classic League.
The basic entry fee is $100 per team, and this includes the cost of the festival. Team T-shirts are extra.
Teams are encouraged to seek a local sponsor to defray costs; sponsors will be on Team T-shirts.
We gratefully thank Neighbors Building Neighborhoods Sector 6 for their support of the league.
Teams for the 2007 season are forming. Individuals can also sign up for placement on an existing team. Contact any committee member with questions.
We can always use donations of bats and gloves.
